Does My ECT Sensor Need Replacing?
I've been having a lot of cold start issues lately. It's like the ECU thinks the car is warm when it's not. I don't get the usual 1500rpm when the car is cold. When I turn on the car it would just idle at 800rpm and idle like crap because the car is still cold.
I turned my car to the on position, so I can datalog the ECT readings and found out that I am getting irratic readings all over the temperature spectrum.
This is with the car completely cold, the ECT reads 175 degrees. Then all of a sudden it reads 215 degrees and then after a few seconds it reads 200 degrees. It looks as though it's jumping all over the place. And it also looks as though the ECT sensor is leaking coolant because the connector is wet.
I'm using Neptune RTP on a d16z6.
Sound like a bad ECT sensor?
