Does this make sense to anyone?
I was having an overboosting issue, where boost would keep going up until I let off of the throttle. I also noticed my Bosch ( ) BOV was not working, and all I would hear is compressor surge. We just put the car together, so I only have about 2000 miles on it. I kept boosting to a minimum, but when I would boost these things would happen.
Anyway I was doing some routine maintenance today, checking oil/plugs etc. I noticed my plugs were white, very white. I looked at my fuel pressure gauge and it read 29
Anyway, I bumped it up to about 40psi (is this normal) and the car runs much better. It doesn't overboost anymore, and my BOV is kinda working (now I hear that, and a little bit of compressor surge mixed).
Does this make sense to anyone? How can raising fuel pressure fix all these problems? I'm hoping when I get my new BOV welded on, the compressor surge goes away.
Just thought I'd share the weird experience, hey i'm not complaining
