Default Does this make sense?

A guy that drives a turbo miata is trying to tell me i should have got the sc50 with .63 a/r instead of .48 a/r. I told him the reason for going with the .63 is so i can have more top end power and not have such a short spool time that when i hit full boost i wont lose all my traction. Anyway this is what he wrote to me explaining in charts why .63 is not good for my 1.6(b16) motor.

I plotted your motor's output against a few compressor maps. As you can see, the T3 50 trim is too small. You flow off its chart if you redline, meaning that the wheel cannot spin any faster. That's not good.


Now for the T4 50 trim. When coming into boost, you are below the surge line. That is bad too. Wrong compressor for you. Also look how much is just not being used - once agan not efficient.


Now for the optimal compressor for you - the 60 trim. The fit literally does not get any better. Get the picture?


I would be happy to email you the spreadsheet I use for the calculations if you PM me. Oh and just take my word for it bro, you want the T3 .48 turbine.

Is he right? If not can you give me a better explination as to why the .63 should work good?

Huh?

You're talking about turbine housing a/r, but you're posting nothing but compressor maps. Apples can usually only be compared with apples.
