Does an inline work exactly like an intank fuel pump?
After talking to a few people, I have a few unanswered questions. I was talking about running a vortech 12:1 fmu w/ a walbro intank fuel pump, and several people suggested using an inline instead. Now it makes me wonder, what advantages does the inline have? is it able to withstand more pressure or have a more consistent flow? also, is it always on or does it work something like the vortech fmu maybe? mucho thanks...
an inline pomp is always "on". The difference between an most inlines and intanks is that inlines can maintain higher fuel pressures that are associated with an FMU then an intank can.
I was wondering the same thing, but I already ordered my msd inline pump anyways, but I don't see why a walbro 255 intake wouldn't suffice in itself.

lots of cool info, the most juicy bit was the airtix (sp?) pump. i didnt know it was inline, now to shop for them on ebay...
oh one last question, by adding an inline fuel pump, does the ecu compensate for this and change the static fuel pressure? or does it basically make the whole powerband rich?
