Default Does hondata support 8 injectors?

Say i run a fuel cell and a twin fuel rail set up, can hondata support the switch over from the stock fuel cell to the aftermarket one at a set boost level?

If you don't have Hondata, yet, and want to do a secondary injector setup, I would say go with a standalone that properly supports it. 8 injectors with Hondata, if it's possible at all will only be done with a hack.

Hmm... if you can wire up a electric switch based on the vtec signal, to switch between 2 different sets of injectors.. Use the same drivers. Basically switch
the output of the drivers into two different sets of injectors based on vtec signal.

4 sets of Relays and inverted relays. Gotta get some beefy ones though.

Why switch rails.. you can keep the pressure in both, and just switch injector sets.

I've never heard of a secondary injector setup that switches totally to the second set of injectors. I'm assuming you want staged injection. All 8 injectors run at the same time.

What if we run a non-vtec motor? How would it be set up? My car is a daily driver and i really dont wanna have to fill it up with high octane fuel all the time to run high boost... I figure if i had a fuel cell i could use it only when i wanted to run high boost.

then you could run a hobbs style pressure switch and activate the second set of injectors

This sounds a little strange, but you're going to buy a second set of injectors, new fuel rail, hoses, and adapters, plus all the associated electronic gizmos you'll need, not to mention a second fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator since you obviously want to keep the two fuels seperate without mixing, and modify your intake manifold just so you can save a few dollars by not buying high octane fuel?

Why don't you just get a valve and switch between tanks when you decide to up the boost with the controller? I know it's not fancy or anything and doesn't do exactly what you want, but it's about $30.00 and a lot less complicated.

Wow.. more "it's not a true stand alone" comments! I guess you can call the Hondata a "stand by itself" since it runs from one unit and doesn't need a piggyback to make fuel/ig adjustments.

Anyway, you can do a hack to make it run 2 banks of injectors but for ease of tuning you would be better off getting a computer that already supports this arrangement.

That is a good point. I was just curious if hondata did support the 8 injector set up. And from the looks of it the cost will be rediculously crazy. I just wanted to do some research and learn a little more about everything. Running 116 octane all the time will be a lot cheaper, but it will be a huge pain in the *** when it comes to filling up on my 3.5 hr commute back and forth to college. The switch set up you are speaking about is another possible option of mine, i just didnt post that since i already did a bit of research on it. Thanks to all the guys who lended their .02

We were thinking about doing a set up like this in my friends CRX. I thought we were only ones who thought of it. We were planning on having the stock tank and upper rail for pump gas, and the extra cell for C16. We ran into a different problem in our quest, it wasnt how to activate the 8 injectors because we were gonna run AEM, but how are we gonna switch over to a second fuel and timing map? You cannot just run the same timing and fuel for C16 and 93. C16 burns leaner and u need more timing advance, how are u gonna switch maps on the fly?

just add an additional fuel cell properly mounted in the trunk and when at the track diconnect the feul (youll want to upgrade anyways to stainless) using an aeroquip quick dicconect fuel fitting and pop it onto the race fuel cell . easy way done . the only hard part is making the satinless lines in a daily car and if its in a lude alittle bit more tricky but all in all a good upgrade if switchig fuel is all thats proposed here.-pdang
