Default Does girdle need to be notched in a D16y8 with eagle rods????

I have a d16y8 and I'm using new eagle rods I know the block needs to be notched but does the girdle need to be notched???

Almost everytime that I've seen a girdle need to be notched it was ona z6 not a y8. Anyone ever notch a y8???

Im thinking the y8 clears and the z6 doesnt anyone else have any information on this????

usualy with the arp rodbolts it has to be notched, but im not 100% sure on the y8's though.

So it seems that the z6 girdle needs to be notched and the y8 clears. Anyone else with a y8 or z6 that needed to notch.

my y8 was notched, my eagle rods had the bigger bolts, and wouldnt clear.

you had to notch with the ARP custom age 625+ bolts

with the upgraded ARP 2000 (the ones you torque to 43 FT/LBS) you do not need to notch a Y8

You know that for a fact?? Wow someone with solid information. Do they even make eagle rods with the old bolts any more???

Z6 block here.. Eagle rod's with arp bolts. Definitely had to notch it.

i have a built y8 but i forgot if my engine builder had to notch my girdle or not, but i do know for sure that the block had to be notched

So it seems the z6 girld edosent clear and the y8 girdle does clear. So has anyone ever compared the two. Pics maybe???
