Does a FMU need a Missing Link for it to work?
Or can the FMU work without the MissingLink?

Where can i get a Greddy DownPipe Elbow Gasket?

yes you need a missing link to trick the ecu in thinking it's still NA...

your much better off being honest with your car and just tell it you put a turbo on there so be prepared... aka EMS.

why would an fmu need a missing link valve? The missing link just bleeds off boost before the map sensor. the fmu runs of boost pressure from the manifold.

So the engine doesn't go into limp mode.

I have my AFC installed and I'm still going into limp mode and I don't really know why. At 4K the CEL pops on and it idles at 1,400. I just picked up a missing link so I'll slap at on and see if it solves the problem

you could get a jackson racing map controller.
it does the missinglink function, but also some other stuff to add more fuel at key points, should make things run smoother too.

they're 150 new, or around 100 used..

Very simple: When the ECU sees a MAP voltage greater than 2.8-3v (which corresponds to atomspheric pressure) it will think there is a positive pressure in the intake. Well, that doesn't make any sense to a N/A ECU.

You have two options: One is to use the Missing Link - this will keep the MAP sensor from seeing positive pressure and thus spitting out a voltage that the ECU doesn't like to see. The second method is to use a VAFC. Using this method, the MAP sensor will be allowed to see boost (which means it will spit out a voltage greater than 2.8v) but the VAFC will intercept this voltage and scale it back so that the ECU doesn't see a voltage value greater than 2.8v.

EDIT: You really have a third option too - get UberData or some variant and do things the correct way.
