Default Missing link question?

OK so I was told by someone I know that an FMU and missing link is not good idea to put on your turbo honda b/c they do more harm than good, well in exact words "your car will blow up"
I always thought these to be good things to have on your car?!?!
Anyone provide some truth?

Your car will not blow up using those but not recommended.

Way back in the day, it was the only option and I ran missing link/fmu setup for a while. It wasn't the best but my cars never blew up. You will have a momentary lean spot at the transition from vacuum to boost.

Now though, it's really rather pointless because having an ECU chipped and a street tune is pretty much the same price as the missing link/fmu setup and will work SOOOO much better.

Check out PGMFI.org and read up on chipping and tuning.
