Default do you see anything wrong with this?

those r my eagle rods with arp bolts. when i hand thighten the bolts the lower part is not flush wit the rod. i didnt try torquing them with any tools yet im scared i will break something.

That part sticking out of the cap slides into the rod. Tq down to spec and should be fine. My DSMs i did were 60 ft lbs i believe.

x2. This is normal, they slide into the rod. 60 ft lbs is too much depending on the rod. Which rods/bolts are these? Look up the torque specs on ARPs site:

My B18 calls for 43ft lbs

Are those dowel pins too long? Are they the original ones?

if the dowel pins are org and the caps are on right when u tighten them down it will draw them in

There is nothing wrong with the rods. Apply a little pressure and it will seat the dowels in the rod..

You may already know, but make sure the knotch on the rod and the cap are facing the same direction when you install them.

they should have the bearing size etched into the caps and rods look at them close make sure you got em all liined up
