Do i need new head studs
I'm getting my motor rebuilt right now. It's a D-series motor fully buit with Crower internals and SRP pistons. I'm going to be using a thicker headgasket but I'm wondering will the stock head studs work properly to seal the block and the head or should I switch to ARP head studs. I already have the head studs sitting in my room but I've been reading how people are having problems with oil leaking and such. Need to decide which head studs to go with, ARP or stock. I will be ruuning about 12-15psi of boost.
I resused my headbolts on my D series rebuild, and blew a head gasket 600mi after. Replaced the headgasket and put in ARP head studs, and haven't had any problems so far.
You're not supposed to reuse the headbolts though people do it all the time. I'm happy I went with the ARPs. I got mine from summit for $89 if I remember correctly.

sweet, I guess I'll use the ARp head bolts. I just don't want to be having to torque them back down after so many miles like others on here have to do.
