Default DIY wideband oxygen sensor control module and LED

I dont know if anyone has posted this website before on here: http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/default.htm. I bought the chip board, parts and LED kit yesterday. I will be assembling the kit asap and have it installed into my car. The parts ran me 78.00 with shipping, and another 100-125 for the honda wideband oxygen sensor itself. I will let everyone know how it goes and try and make a simplier method for assembly so your everyday joe can do it.

i bought mine too about 2 weeks ago. Was apparently sent out to me 3 days ago.
Should have it next week. I'm eager to get it built up and run it with my Hondata.
I hear there are problems with the layout and instructions being wrong so be careful with building it paying close attention to the schematics and testing each subcircuit as you go along.

Lets keep each other posted on any problems along the way!

Question,

If using the Hondata system, couldn't you just get the Honda wideband O2 and calibrate the Lambada input in the ROM editor to understand the voltage the OE sensor is using, therefore not needing all this other gagetry (and not having a full time meter) but being able to just plug and play and tune with ROM Editor?

Has anyone tried it or figured out the parameters that would need to be entered into ROM editor for this to work?

you need a controller for the wideband, you can't just replace your stock sensor with this one.

Wideband sensors need some pretty sophisticated control circuitry to drive the heater and compensate for different exhaust temperatures, etc. That's why they're so damn expensive. This DIY version seems like a pretty good deal.

not yet. should have my kit end of this week assuming shipping from Australia is about a week. Got my sensor and got some connectors from Sumitomo to fit.
I will try to pick up some more needed items today from Radio Smack like a small box, RS232 connnectors and perhaps a needed heat sink for the project. I figure if this thing doesn't work correctly I'm out 70bucks and I will just buy the RJO unit for $360.

did you mean FJO?
the FJO controller is $360 but that doesn't include the sensor or a display. A full setup costs $750+ -- http://www.fjoinc.com
I got mine from http://www.alamomotorsports.com/

FJO

the sensor they overcharge for. Same one from partsbin almost half the price.
I don't need a display. running it into Hondata via the ecu.

He said mine shipped out... should have it soon.

I ordered the kit, pcb, and the display. Mine will also be connected to Hondata.

Ya, I found that AU site as well a few weeks ago after searcing for WB info. I've also got a kit on the way. As a backup, there is the original info found at diy-efi.org. I contacted a few people in there before I got ahold of the guy who sells the boards stateside. They are less than $5 shipped. Add the parts list cost $25-ish. They both use the same Civic o2 sensor. THe AU kit is sexier tho.

waiting...

Yeah honda actually did make a wideband. But only for a certain year and model civic...i dont have the part number and specs on hand...check that site to find more about it. The entire kit with the display module was 78.00. I personally think that it is the best deal that i have seen in awhile. I love when technology is shared!
