DIY water injection
okay, so i have been researching a little about water/alcohol injection...then it came to me...the windshield water pump...do you believe that if i hook up the proper sized nozzle to the pump, it would be an efficient water injector? i plan on hook up the winshield pump to a hobbs pressure switch, and have a hose run up to a fitting near the throttle body, with a nozzle...i really think this will work. do you guys see any problems with this setup?
I don't think so, because the pump makes not enoght pressure... i would install a inline fuel pump instead and use a normal fuel injector... this could make the proper vaporisation.
It probably wouldn't work too well against pressure in the intake, but... look at the nozzles at mcmaster.com on catalog pages 1898-1901. I was thinking of misting my fmic. In the worst case you already have the nozzle, you can just get a real pump.
*edit* - if you do try it, please check for proper atomization off of the vehicle. You don't want water pooling in your cylinders really.

Ya, what they said, you need a high pressure pump. Fuel injector is a bad idea because even though it makes a fine spray, many people say its still not fine enough, you cant have any drops forming in your intake. You can buy aquamist injectors on ebay for like $15-$20. That would be your best bet.
