Default ... diy throttle body porting... comments/thoughts

... i searched the archives and found mixed reactions... some good, some bad... so i am wondering what everyone thinks now... if you have the time, post and lemme (and everyone else) know what you think... thanks...

((just some stuff from the archives))
i found that if you are going to straight bore it out, you need a new throttle plate (sized appropriately)... if you dont wanna get the new plate, then you can taper it (similar to the spoon tb)... anything else i missed or should know?... thanks...

I tapered my throttlebody when I had to take it off, anyway, and I would say it did not make a noticebale difference, though this was before I went turbo, so maybe it would be more pronounced now. If you've got it off, why not? at the least you could smooth out the transitions from cast to machined on either side of the plate.

IMO its not worth it unless your gonna use a larger butterfly too. But big tb's wont come into play until your making a lot of hp.....stock should be fine.
