Don't forget to let the car warm up to normal operating temp and to jump the ecu.

I appreciated the advice you gave at first but your last post makes you seem like an ***. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask incase someone felt like quickly telling me before I find out for my self, noone knows everything before hand.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Make sure you hook the timing light to cylinder one, otherwise you'll feel retarded when you try and figure out why the timing marks are on the bottom of the crank pully

ok I retarded the timing by about 2 degress, and I think it fixed it but am not 100% sure. if it did not, does anyone have any other suggestions to this problem? as an update it only happens from about 7500-8000, and this is in 3rd gear. thanks for any replies.

Justg wondering, why is it necessary to jump the ECU? I've changed my timing with a light numerous times and have never done that.
Do people do it because the manual says to? Or is there an actual reason?

ecu pulls timing when it hear knocking. so if your timing gun says 15, it might be 18 but ecu retarded by 3
