i had a zex nitrous kit with the zex plugs installed on my 2000 gsr. i sold the kit and when i removed the plugs i noticed that they were really black and the white spot on the plugs had black spots on it. my friend told me that this is due to detonation. i currently replaced the plugs with iridiums. If detanation did occur... is my teggy going to be alright. the car seems to running good so far. it's not slower in any way. It just seems like my valves tap alot. any suggestions anybody??

 

Yo GSRacer, do a compression test, that will be a good way to determine if your motor is still okay or not. If your compression turns out to be alright, then you are good to go.

If the plugs are black you should be ok black means the motor is runing good or rich if the tip of the plug is white and the ground strap is rainbow color it is runing to lean and will cause damage. I would run a compression test like Evil says that should give you a good leg to stand on

Hey GSRacer, do it now!!!!! You should be in the 200 area if that. Your compression should be almost thesame in all cylinders. Let me know, when you want to do it. I will do a compression check for you if you want.
