Default detonating

i'm running 9psi and at about 5800 rpms in every gear except for first, i hear the engine start to detonate. fuel setup is this 255lph pump and regulator set to 60psi, could it be to rich? Should i try to gap my plugs colder? or can i put in a set of prelude injectors? this is all on a sohc vtec

Youre not too rich. Pull out some timing

sounds like you need a better fuel setup. is your fuel pressure regulator boost dependent or do you have it just static set to 60 psi. If you have it just static set you might want to think about getting a vortech fmu 8:1 should be good.

So.. 255lph pump, stock injectors, no FMU and you're trying to boost? I think thats a good reason why you're detonating. You need to supply fuel for boost which you aren't doing.

Listen to VTC_slow -

If that turns out not to be your problem, check your compression and make sure everything is within the proper specs. You may have lots of carbon build up, causing hot spots which invite pre-ignition to occur.

Yeah you will need bigger injectors he's running 9psi on stocks!! They will be maxing out to much pressue from the fmu and regulator. If you want the motor to last turn down the boost, untill you get it tuned properly. 7psi max for the moment. And do you have one stage colder plugs ??? You need them!! gap to .32..

Are you running any type of fuel management? FMU? afc hack? anything?

12:1 fmu? im hoing that you have an INLINE pump. Am I correct in assuming that?
If not, that is why you are leaning out, an intank CANNOT supply the fuel needed to properly operate the FMU.

I KNOW THAT. did you read my post? i said that it takes an inline to properly operate an FMU!!!!!!!!! INTANK will not provide enough pressure

Gap em yourself do you have 1 stage colder plugs??????? The reason your detonating is because fmu's are not designed for 9psi of boost with standard injectors
