Default Del Sol Supercharger

I have a honda del sol 1.6 liter non vtec and I was wondering if it would be worth it to put on a jackson racing supercharger with 6 pounds of boost and how much horsepower would I get out of it. Thanks For The Help!

Personally, I'd just swap in a GSR motor or better.

For the money you will spend on a SC...you'd be better off just swapping the motor.

Motor swap. Definitely.

The JRSC will cost the same as a new motor and will not produce much more power.

I was thinking of you swapping in a GSR - b18c1 motor.

With a good intake, you'll start with 155hp or so at the wheels. Plus, the engine can be safely brought up to 250hp at the wheels without internal mods.

If you put a JRSC on your current engine, you will not have many ways of getting more power out of it. Maybe 20-30hp more, but that's it.

A jrsc will not make 165 at the factory 6 psi. I know, I have one...

Get a B16 or better yet, a b18b.

Of course EVERYONE is going to tell you to swap the engine. It is the easy answer. And if you plan on really building it probably the right answer. But the question I have is how do you plan on driving the car? A JRSC will make power instantly. Off idle. I'm not sure about the hp numbers and where they are on the JRSC dyno curve, but(and correct me if I'm wrong) the b16 and b18 both are rated for max power at like 6000 rpm. If you plan on racing it AND doing A LOT of labor, then yes a swap is the way to go. If you plan on DRIVING it, and don't want the hassle of doing a swap and not knowing what problems the new engine has, I'd go with a supercharger. Yes new it will cost you about the same. But that's before labor of course. I don't know about you but I don't have a shop in my yard to do a swap. Of course if you know people then it may be different. The way I drive my car (a D16Y7 99 civic) it made more sense. From stop light to stop light, and corner to corner. In other words a Daily driver. Of course for like $6000 you could get a B18 and supercharge IT.

Also I assume you have a standard? Cause if you have the auto tranny you'll never see that 6000rpm where the max power is anyway.

*cough* blah blah blah

i installed a JRSC on my GSR.

the first day was awesome!
the second day was alright.
the third day i was wondering what was wrong with it (nothing)
the fourth day i felt ripped off

6 months of ******* with it...i sold it.

chalked it up as a learning experience.
