Default 2.5" --> 3" Down Pipe (pics)

Just finshed converting my 2.5" revhard dp to bolt up to my 3" thermal exhaust. It is a lot quieter that i thought it was gonna be. Not sure why other folks 3" thermals are so loud, it may be the addition of a 3" flex section before my cat the helped quiet it down.

See my sig for more pics...

(If you are on AOL/RR my pics will load extra slow cause of them closing down a peering agreement with my ISP. Its AOLs attempt to proprietize the Internet. Do the Internet a favour and dont use AOL/RR)

It's actually "1.8T" and its from my Audi A4 that I debadged. My Si has a B17 bored to 84mm that makes it ~1805cc. So it is actually a 1.8T

the 3" flex section is from JCWhitney and costs $66. the original DP is a $140 rev hard 2.5" unit.

the flex section and the cat are tig welded into a single unit with a 3" flange at both ends. i didnt weld the flex section to the DP as i want to keep them separate so i can ceramic coat the DP.

i measured and cut all the pieces and a buddy of mine tig welded them, i gotta say tig is the only way to go. i used to take my stuff to meineke and it would look like they spat chewing gum on the joints.

if anyone in houston needs this kind of stuff done drop me an IM or email. I will get you intouch with the guy who can do all this stuff for you.

are all the five bolt flanges for the t3 discharge the same bolt up pattern?

im talking about tha 5 bolts themselves, do one t3 flanes for external fit another turbo? and is there a way to get 3" on right from the beginning?

looks really good

as far as i know all 5 bolts T3 discharge flanges are the same.

it is a debated point but its generally accepted that you cant fit a 3" DP on with A/C.

its coated with DEI silicon hight temp paint, this is just a stop-gap until I get it ceramic coated. But I still need to integrate my WG dump tube.
