it's sad how people only care about how it looks. I think people overlook end tank design. I think end tank design is very important and it is sad to see so many bad designs with square tanks and sharp angles that restrict flow. Apex'i seems to be the leader in FMIC these days especially their silvia and skyline cores. They also are purpose built as front mount and the cross tubes are designed to force air to flow through the core. Also ducting is very important to force air through the core....any gap between the core and the front bumper is gonna let air go around the core.

SSAC doesnt make their own IC's.
XO2= SSAC= Megan Racing.
All the same ****.
And actually they are a **** load better then the JRC ones. I wouldnt have one on my car if that wasnt the case. I usually dont try to pinch pennies. You can tell from my setups. But this IC is deff worth the money

One in the same my friend.

If it were me...I would buy a core(25x10x3) and weld up my own end tanks and do it for less than 150 bucks. I know I've seen myself do it.

Ebay bar and plate IC's cant go wrong.

good info.
i thought SSAC made nothing but sh*t. this is the 1st i have heard of a good product from them.

this is also the 1st i have heard a couple bad things about the JRC's . i knew they were a budget cooler, but i have heard good success stories and it seem to be running great on my setup.

makes me think more about the purchase.

To poeple have any data to back up these opinions? When you say it sucks or whatever do you have a temperature sensor of some kind that you are monitoring? Did you or do you notice documentable pressure drops?

All you gotta do is feel the tanks after some dyno pulls or street pulls. That will tell you what you need to know from there.

My tanks have always been ice cold on the intake side.
Ask DC2R714 about his experience

If you want actual numbers get one of them Temp guage laser things. And see for yourself. Youll be suprised. I used one on the dyno pulls with my Other Ebay supposed Spearco IC's. They worked extremely well from the readings

ricers = use JRC
ppl that actually care about performance = use anything BUT JRC

i agree.

i can tell you that after hard runs. input side of the 8 Inch JRC is HOT. and the output side is straight COLD. not warm COLD!!

I use a jrc 6" on my own car and haven't had any problems and iat's are always cool. Although my setup isn't anything extreme that needs a larger ic. IMO the xspower/obx intercooler is def worth the money just like you guys said. I recorded very low iat's on a friend's car using one of their large sized intercoolers.

damn i gotta find out for myself tonite...i have one them laser temp tool...i never thought JRC quality was poor since he still in business and going strong i would never put an OBX i/c on my car thats just me...i never had a problem wiht my 6in or 8in JRC...when i swapped to the 8in notice a night and day difference i guess my iact were alot cooler...i like the way the JRC is designed since it fits on my jdm front end perfectly behind the grill barely any shaving or modification done the bumper i am perfect sure if i upgrade to a PWR, PeakBoost, Precision FMIC i would definately have to do some modifying and prolly cut alot of the bumper to fully take advantage of the bigger fmic...since the bumper usually covers or block more of the air...so i am in favor of my fmic fits my bumpers dimensions perfect for efficient in terms of air will rush to all 4 corners of my fmic...

i dunno but stating ricer=JRC since i sported two on my TYpe R and 1 of his older fmic on 2.0ltr GSR-T project

He stated that because everyone is stating how cool it looks. Not how well it performs.

For me I got the biggest bar and plate my budget could afford and welded on my own end tanks.

For this guy...he has an ITR which he doesnt want to cut up...so a huge core may not be an option. Doesn't mean he cant get a "quality" IC. i would get a precision IC if I were him.

I dont see where it says he has an ITR
He said he has an Integra and used a picture of DC2R714's car for some reason?

Still same thing though. Go with a quality core.

Mine didnt look as cool as DC2R714's, but it cooled a hell of alot better
Im sure I have better pics somewhere with the front end on

feel free to come by and fell the end tanks on my 8" jrc cooler......with the digital thermometer there is a 15-20deg diffrence.....the intake side is always cold to the touch compared to the turbo side.

i don't know why everyone is ragging on the JRC cooler....it does the job well for the price you pay.

finally someone speaks some truth! however... its not that hard to get down the design and cores for intercoolers... but good quality is more important than anything
