DD LS Turbo??
Im planning to go ls turbo really soon on my daily driven integra, built head, stock bottom for now, GSR Tranny, and a 50trim turbo. The block has about 170xxx miles on it. I want to know if i can drive it everyday to work, and still drive hard on the weekends without any problems, i drive from queens,NY to jersey everyday.
I dont think anyone could tell you there will never be problems, but if you have a healthy motor, use good products and get a good tune you will give yourself a great chance at having a reliable fun car for a long time.
I have a 97 b18b1 with 275k+ that I daily drive with an Ebay kit.
to daily drive a cheap kit and get away with it you'll need....
1:quality hoses (not "jdm" oil lines.)
2:good oil and filtration
3
il restrictor (to prevent blow turbo seals)
4:Sufficient fuel
also, make sure your motor is healthy, I dropped my oilpan and check for oil coking and burning, compression, leakdown etc.
I paid $560 shipped for the kit
plus $60 for quality lines
$150 for rc440's
and i got a BNIB walbro fuel pump for free.
I paid a total of $770
I'm tuned on Crome with 10PSI and the car has been beaten and driven for about 40k miles.

only way to get some real good info on your motor is to compersion test and a leask down test. if thoes tests come back bad then i wouldnt waste your time on it
i might just end up sending the block to a machine shop and let em rebuild it, new bearings, new seal, new rods, pistons, rings, balance the crank, and give it a good hone, it should be safer right?
If it doesnt pass the tests then you have to see where you problem lies most likely it will be your rings while your in there doing rings i would do brand new rod and main bearings to be safe for boost.
I'd post pictures but i'm not proud of the way it looks haha.
It's a good setup, i haven't track-driven it yet but will soon.
on 195/50/15's with a perfect alignment i break traction 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in boost.
It's definitely a fun DD.
if your compression/leakdown results turn out bad it's valves/rings/headgasket that can be the cause.
