DC2 GSR w/ turbo-overheating--radiator suggestions
I was looking into C&R, Fluidyne, Etc. Should I go with an Integra or Civic model? If I go Civic, it will get the radiator away from the hot side of the turbo, Integra model keeps the turbo close, what would be better? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

first off, are you sure you know the cause of overheating? Check other areas before assuming a bigger radiator will solve the problem. This was my mistake in the past.

Yeah, I am trying that. Getting new radiator cap. Already have Redline water wetter in it. Both fans apear to be on when the a/c is on, but it gets hot fast when the a/c comes on?

how far does the stick go on the temperature gauge? with turbo the fan will come up a little more often because its so HOT.

I don't think its the thermostat. It runs fine on temp unless it's hot out, then if you boost it passes half right away, takes awhile to come down. If a/c is on, it goes over half right away, to 3/4's temp, I shut if off after that, don't want to ever go higher than that. Also, if A/C is on, it cycles between cold air/hot air at low speeds, and the vehicle temp raises and lowers with the A/C temp? Highway speeds are ok, but haven't done it enough to tell yet.

Update.......
figured out problem.........prior owner reversed the wires on the 2nd/AC fan, pulling hot air from turbo onto radiator and A/C condensor.........all better now
Still gets up to half temp with A/C on around town........it's over 100 deg here, so looking into a/m radiator and fan anyway.

Re: DC2 GSR w/ turbo-overheating--radiator suggestions (lonnieboost)
alright i need help guys...
Here's my problem. If I am driving on the freeway or highway my temp guage is 1/4 when I am in stop and go traffic my car starts to overheat... What I am noticing is my fan sn;t turning on at all...
I;ve checked all my fuses already they are all good.
At first I thought it was a bad thermostat but its not the case... because I removed teh thermostat completely and fan still doesn;t turn on...
Then i tried flushing my radiator system and still nothing. I also tried bleeding my radiator system...
someone please help... search function wasn;t too much of a help...
Thanks

Re: DC2 GSR w/ turbo-overheating--radiator suggestions (serenity)
Read this:
I have a GSR turbo wiht darton sleeves and a fluidyne civic sized radiator (two electric fans) and when i would run A/C it would get hot too. . I did these two things and already get a difference.
1. Originally I made the mistake of running 50% coolant/water mixture. I now run 90% or higher coolant and it runs way cooler. Coolant has a much higher boiling point.
2. Then I had my hks shroom style airfilter right in front of the fan getting hot air. I faced it downward away from fan so it could pick up cooler air underneath car. That also let more air from the fan get to the engine.
In just two days i have 0 problems. Ill see how it works out through the week.
Edit: make sure both fans work and that there are no loose connections. Just turn the key to ignition and put a/c to check. no need to start car. try wiggling wires around see if they turn off.

thats the problem. turn key to ignition and turn a/c on then use a 12v tester to see if power is getting to the fans. put the probe where the connection is. Also Check fuses under dash and under hood close to fire wall.
