Datalogging question-Uberdata-Laptop
I will be using a IBM Thinkpad with win2k on it and uberdata. I am aware of how to chip and burn the chips with the chipburner. What I'm unsure of is the datalogging. What part will I need to do this? Does http://www.moates.com sell a cable specifically that will work with my setup? I'd like to datalog just a big before I install everything and see what it looks like at stock.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
The best thing to do is check out your nearest Radioshack and see if they have the Nokia cell phone data cable (3285/5185). It only costs $9-$11, and you can download the device drivers online.

I have both the BURN1 and the HULOG from Moates. I love them both and the HULOG is very easy to install and fully removeable once tuning is done. You just have to solder on one 4 pin header on the ECU.

You'll be hard-pressed to find any of those $10 cables. ATM radioshack has a few cables with the pl2303 chip in it. One is for the kyocera se47. I tried another radioshack for I believe a diff nokia, same chip, and worked fine. Info for it is on uberdata forums (IIRC its the one that uses the brown, red & orange wires)

Yeah they give you everything including the USB cable to hook to your laptop. I just keep the cover off the ECU while tuning with the cable attached to the 4 pin computer audio cable header. I'll take a pic of it installed on my ECU if you want.
