Default darton h22 problems

Well I finally got my engine back in my car fixed and alot of the problems, like my oil light flashing, it was the wire touching the block making a ground, and my vtec problem was in my map on my aem stand alone, I also got new je rings. Turns out, the wiscoe rings were low tension rings. I had new bearings installed with a new oil pump and balance shaft elimator kit. So I got in the car and it ran fine till i noticed my oil was brown and had swirl marks in it but it wasent milkey, but I had alot of milkeyness in my valve cover and traces of it on my dip stick, then I started to worry. One day I was at the store and started my car and I noticed a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust and it ran kind of ruff and then cleared up so I drove it and it got worse so I started it up the next day and it did fine drove it for a little while and got back to the house and let it idle for a couple of minutes and it started running ruff again and smoking alot so I got out pulled # 1 spark plug no change pulled # 2 no change pulled 3 and 4 and it changed so i jumped in and took it for a spin and it came back to life I parked it did a compression check #1 165# 2 180# 3 180 #4 180. One thing I forgot to tell you when i put the stock head gasket on, The black stuff on the gasket was pealing off so a mechanic from a speed shop cleaned it off till it was all metal, and coated with copper spray I think it could be a head gasket because it was cheap and man I was broke as hell after the rebuild, but i used a cometic head gasket before and it was worse then it was this time, I also noticed where the block meets the head there were traces of oil and water. I also had a oil leak but i could never find where it was leaking any advise would be helpful

I used a new gasket that i had sitting around in a plastic bag the black stuff on the gasket was peeling off in some spots so we cleaned it all off till it was metal and the copper coated it

?? I always use copper spray on my head gaskets and I'm sure a lot of people will say they do to. I've never heard anything negative about using copper spray
