Default Damn this stupid DP!!! Keeps comming loose!!!!!!

Ok, this is getting ever so frustrating. As if the fact that my car refuses to idle properly isn't enough, my damn DP keeps comming loose ever so often. Actually, it hadn't come loose in a long time till about 2 weeks ago when I dropped yet another DP bolt. I broke out the thread-lock and covered the bolts in it, tightened it up, and as of yesterday I'm hearing yet another freaking exahust leak under my car! Now I haven't gone under there to confirm it, but I hear my IC pipes clanging which is already a sign it's the DP wiggling around. I'm FED UP! What do you guys use to keep your DP bolts from commiting suicide!??!

Go to Autozone or something and look in the Help! section. Look for GM Metric water pump studs. I used these for my downpipe and my manifold.

I've done the same and have never had a problem with anything backing out.

I had the same problem before I started running a flexpipe, because my exhaust had no kind of flexibility!

Lock washers look like regular washers that have been cut and bent at an angle. When you tighten the nut, it compresses the washer and "locks" it.

stiffer motor mounts
my .02
sounds like the torque from the motor is snapping bolts (had a problem like that a while ago)

i feel your pain
i used to have this same problem and everytime i tightened it
sure enough next week it would be loose again
then one of the threads stripped started stripping
so finally i got fed up
and restudded it
used maximum strength locktite
put like a whole bunch of rtv all over the gasket
used lockwashers and tightened it
hasnt come loose since
and i just drove about 1000 miles this past week
