Default D16z6 build

I have decided to boost my d16z6, and I am wondering what all I can do to it as far as using it as a daily. I don't see the need in spending 1500 for a swap then build the swap when I can build the z6 and make the same hp as a dohc. Anyway never built aboosted car before any advice is better than no aadvice. Should I leave it all stock put head studs in (ARP) and tune and call it a day or go all out and build it. I want something fast and terrorize the fellow "street racers" and on the other hand drive it back and forth to work and everywhere else.

Don't mention on here that you street race...

Always helps with a build to figure out how much power you want to make and your budget. That way you can gather a parts list (with help or research) to meet your goal.

No matter how good the tune is 300hp will break the rods eventually, build the motor with forged rods and pistons, new seals and bearings, arp head studs and ur motor with stock sleeves can handle 400hp, after that is done piece together a quality turbo kit do NOT buy some cheap Chinese kit from eBay.. Once installed get her tuned an you will be good to go, for complete guides check out the FAQ a lot of valuable information there

normally id say thats a great turbo for a z6 as i ran one on a z6 back in '03. i think it might be a tad small for "at least 300whp". step that up to a 50 trim t3t4 with .48 exhaust housing

300hp is the absolute limit for a 60 trim t3.

Also depending on how hardcore the "street racers" are around you 300hp won't even be a threat... the typical street raced Honda makes at least 500-600hp.. domestics make easily twice that.

I know if you pulled up on me I'd just laugh and watch you make an idiot of yourself

Yep. My favorite kids are the "I have a snail on my D, so I'm fast!"

...no, no you aren't. Go sit in the kid's corner while the real men talk.

Yea we have a few 1200-1600hp twin turbo ls v8s around town, nobody messes with them. the typical NA ls v8 around here makes 500-600hp, ours makes 650.

most of the turbo cars, from civics to EVOs, STIs (there's a full-blown SCCA Rallycross prepped STI that rolls around here, so sexy), basically any turbo car makes 450-800hp. a friend has a 1300hp mk4 supra on e85 that trolls the streets with a powerglide on wrinkle walls.

don't even get me started on the nitrous/turbo streetbikes.

while 300hp will be fun, you won't be anything more than a fly to the true street racers.. you might beat a stock v8 car or the typical all motor import every so often but 98% of the time you'll be handed your ***.
