Default D16Z6 BOOSTED PROBLEMS

ok i got a built z6 turbo that over heats on me!!! ive been thru like 5 radiators already (all stock ones). it seems like the car builds up too much pressure and it busts them, is this a common turbo car problem???? should i just get an aluminum radiator?

What? How have you gone through 5 radiators? Is your cooling system even working?

Please list as much detail as possible about the setup if you want good help.

I don't even know what a "heavily built" swap means. I asked for specifics and you give ambiguous answers. Was it built properly? ARP headstuds? Block surface machined? Good quality headgasket?

To me it sounds like you have a blown head gasket or you're getting headlift.

its fully built man. JE pistons, eagle rods, arp head studs and rod bolts, acl race bearings, micropolished and balanced crank, hondata headgasket (just done), supertech block guard, its honed, bored out and sleeved up, supertech valves, titanium retainers, dual valve springs, crower stage 2 camshaft, port and polished, 5 angle valve job. greddy t3/t4 turbo, greddy blow off valve, tial wastegate, big front mount intercooler 3 inch piping, tuned for 16 psi on a chromes chip etc.... enough detail for you?

im running all of this on a stock radiator. im thinking since its fully built like this, its too much for a stock radiator to handle.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind about what the issue is.

I would do a leakdown test to make sure the headgasket is not damage.

yea im gettin a godspeed aluminum racing radiator within the next couple days hopefully that would work. i was planning on changing the thermostat while i was at it too.

also my fan just stopped workin last night. i tried connecting it direct just to get me home, it worked for a couple minutes then it shut off again. i looked at the plug for the fan and there was antifreeze in it. could i have shorted something and messed it up.

im getting a slim fan soon too.

all help on this would be great.
