D16Y8--->90 civic conversion Q's
Hey all, nice to be here this is post #1 for me
What I have is a complete 5 speed standard 98 civic si parts car, and a 90 civic hatch with a burnt valve. I want to put the d16y8 in the 90 hatchback and turbo it. Going to use an APEXi NEO and AEM wideband to adjust fuel ratios.
First I have to get the d16y8 in the car and running. Should I keep my P2P computer and get a obd2a conversion harness?(is that even possible??) or should I convert both engine and car to obd1 and run a P28 computer?
I'll have more questions for either way of doing it, but I want to figure out which way is the best way first and ask those questions later. Any and all help is much appreciated!

You should convert the car to OBD1 and run the P28 in my opinion. You can spend about 100 bucks on the ECU and distributor jumper harness for OBD0-OBD1. Im not even sure you can convert OBD0-OBD2a honestly.

Re: D16Y8--->90 civic conversion Q's
I did assume swapping to obd1 was the answer, lets just say I'm going to go that way from now on for the sake of keeping it simple.
Well now I need a little clairification for peace of mind, I should be getting an obd0 to obd1 conversion harness and a p28 computer. Then I get a dizzy jumper harness to use the obd0 dizzy on the D16y8?
So I wont use the D16y8 distributor or the p2p computer from the same if I swap it to obd1?

OBD1/OBD2 distributors operate the same, just different connectors. If you're going p28 you can use the d16y8 distributor with it.
OBD0 distributors can only be used if you're keeping a OBD0 ecu.

Re: D16Y8--->90 civic conversion Q's
Ok right on... I just need an obd0 to obd1 conversion harness and a p28 ecu, Plus a jumper harness to use the Y8s distributor with the P28/obd1 setup? Am I correct in thinking this?
Is there actually a way to use the obd0 distributor and obd0 ecu with the y8?? Since I'm going to turbo it and use the AFC and DSM injectors the fueling will be altered anyway so would that maybe work?
