Default d16 t3/t4 turbo position question.

94 civic hatch. jdm d16a motor. i was wondering can a t3/t4 turbo be place either way(sucking side left/right) or it can only be place a certain side. or do i need a certain type of manifold for it to be place a certain way, if so which manifold? i want my turbo to be place sucking side to the right.(standing in front of car; windshield fluid side) thanks.

it doesnt matter, whichever way it fits better. i have my cold side by the alt belt, on my last kit it was by the tranny. if you get an IC kit, it will only fit one way.

for manifold application you have to specify what car, AC / PS, etc.... but pretty much any d series t3 manifold will work.

it can depend on the manifold sometimes because they are designed to have the compressor on the drivers or passengers side for either clearance or because of a/c compatibility.

i have a ramhorn manifold and have the compressor on the drivers side because it is much easier to run the downpipe and oil lines, and the charge piping is much shorter

i'm planning to have the cold side on the windshield fluid side. i dont have ps or ac and i'm not planning to put it in. if i have the cold side on this side would the intercooler piping still work?
