Default d16 setup

Hey guys, Gonna be hopefully going turbo in the next year. Gonna start collecting the parts soon. I'm new to the whole turbo thing and don't know much. I have a plan (based on some smart local guys), but I need feedback on brands and my setup in general. Here's my plan so far

t25 turbo..*t3*
Turbonetics Deltagate wastegate

Stock Z6 head

Y7 Block
Sleeves - ??? (suggestions)
Rods - Tuner Toys
Forged rings - ??? (suggestions)
Pistons - Wiseco/Arias/CP
Balanced crank (polished)
Injectors - DSM 450's
HF manifold

Oil Cooler - ?? (suggestion)
Tunertoys oil lines

New OEM D-series axles

2.5" turbo-back exhaust

Gonna piece together the rest...but hoping for about 250 whp for reliabilty.
Let me know what you think

i would def. get a bigger turbo at least t3 super 60. your going to be pushing the limits of a t25 at 250 whp. i dont know how your going to use an external wastegate with a hf manifold. i would get something tubular also. sleeves shouldnt be need unless your planning on over 400whp. i dont know what your planning on for engine managment but it is def. a must. and put a decent clutch on there as well.

Thanks man! I'm new to the boost thing like I said....

I'm gonna use crome to tune it with uberdata as engine management, and i need a new clutch soon anyways...so thats gonna be priority # 1

t25 turbo..*t3*
Turbonetics Deltagate wastegate ------------- another good cheap fast spooling turbo is a 14b off of a dsm

Stock Z6 head

Y7 Block
Sleeves - ??? (suggestions) ------ dont need them if your shooting for 250hp
Rods - Tuner Toys ------ dont need them if your shooting for 250hp
Forged rings - ??? (suggestions) ------ rings come with pistons most of the time
Pistons - Wiseco/Arias/CP ------ dont need them if your shooting for 250hp
Balanced crank (polished)------ dont need to if your shooting for 250hp
Injectors - DSM 450's ------ perfect
HF manifold ----- this is fine, but you can find a used log manifold in the classfields pretty cheap

Oil Cooler - ?? (suggestion) ------ dont need them if your shooting for 250hp
Tunertoys oil lines ------ good choice, its what i run

New OEM D-series axles

2.5" turbo-back exhaust

Just put headstuds in and boost the stock motor. 250hp is attainable with a good tune.

I would also suggest a walbro 255 fuel pump and dont forget about a resistor box for your injectors, and intercooler, piping and a bov. Headstuds would be a good idea if you plan on making over 200hp also.

If I were you, I'd pick up a 14b turbo, a hf mani, a boost controller, and headstuds and run around 12psi TUNED.

I'm on a stock z6 with headstuds right now and im running 13-14psi street tuned for right now with a log mani and 14b (spools fast, very fun turbo)

I know I could run pretty much stock with decent reliability, but I want ot BE SURE.

I've got to drive 2 hours round trip roughly twice a week and cant afford to lose my car...

If your using a T25 sleeves wont be necessary.. there are a few people that are running around 400Hp on stock sleeves and have had no reliability issues.. Another good option if you are on a budget would be the Vitara pistons.. FJT - a member on here and turbod16.com sells them for around $125 and they have been proven to hold 400HP

I've decided to use a t3...

I've heard vitara pistons, but I'm wary of those...
