Default D15B7 Turbo Question

I have heard that you can use Greddy turbo kits made for the 92-95 civics with the D16Z6 engine on the 92-95 civics with the D15B7 engine. Is this true? If it is, then could you also use the Apexi ball bearing turbo kit on the D15b7. Which is better in HP and Torque figures and reliability, the Greddy turbo kit or the Apexi turbo kit.

Use the search function, I pesonally answered this exact question about a week ago.
Anyways yes most all bolt-on parts are interchangeable, including turbo kits.
i believe that they make the kit for the and market it for the d16 because thats probably the engine that they do their testing and tuning on. They can guarantee that the ex/si engine caqn handle the extra power from the turbo. I assume that that they don't do the testing on the d15 because it's not as internally stout as the d16, therfore they don't want to warantee their product on a engine that they have not tested it on, (or marketed the product for)....yes it will fit though

yea. you could use either the Greddy or Apexi turbo kit. if you want more power get the Apexi turbo kit becuase the turbo is ball-bearing which will spool up faster. but it cost a little bit more though. also since the d15 rods are not that strong i wouldnt boost more than 7-8 psi.

One catch though!!! Yes it will work but not 100% perfectly, the exhaust manifold ports do not line up exactly, they are a couple millimeters over. It has the same problem on the zc as well and I heard rumors that greddy said it would not be any problem under 8psi for the zc. I ran the manifold on by d15b7 for a while like that and it worked okay, but did seem to spool a bit quicker when I switched to the z6 engine. If you are serious you could port match or just run as is. Take a look at the z6 versus b7 exhaust manifold gaskets and you will see.

Crazy, I thought only ZC/D16A1 had the offset ports. Nothing 15 minutes with a Dremel applied to manifold ports doesn't fix. If you ever stick the manifold back onto the "correct" engine, then it just acts as an anti-revesion lip.

Anyway, I know of a few D15B7 turbos. They pull pretty well for what they are, 6-8 psi seems to be reliable depending on your tune, a friend takes his to 10-12 psi for short jaunts because he likes living on the edge.
