d15b7 turbo help
ok guys i got a smoking problem i need help with. going to explain what it was when i got it what i have done.
got a 92 dx hatch turbo. when i first got it, engine bay was filled with oil. leaked at inlet and return line right off the turbo. turbo had some shaft play. car smoked. the guy said he had the boost turned off which he did. ecu is a chipped p75. idk what the chip was programmed for. car had a jumping idle. stock exhaust pipe with a muffler and ghetto welded up downpipe. stock pcv setup with filter on valve cover port. stock d15b7 ngk plugs.
now for what i have all done.
new exhaust and intake manifold gaskets tb gasket head gasket cleaned out iacv new 50 trim turbo and brand new downpipe. new injector o rings cuz the old ones were blown out. rc 440 injectors. i ordered a new basemap from xenocron for the p75 ecu and the d15b7 engine. got new ngk bkr 7es plugs. intercooler and piping had oil in them so i cleaned them all out. compression test on cold engine @ wot was 150 across. got a catch can. hooked up port from valve cover teed into the pcv black box and those go into the catch can. other port on catch can is ported to atmosphere.
now my problem/questions.
i have a smoking issue. car only smokes when i rev 3k or up and smokes pretty good. been trying to find the cause.
does my catch can need to be done differently?
as far as turbo goes on the inlet it only has a filter no piping or i would have hooked valve cover port to that pipe.
compression on cold motor @ wot was 150 across. i have no tried adding oil to see if it differs.
when i hook my laptop up to ecu and run freelog, it says target afr is 13.3. i cannot verify it as i dont have a wideband.
i am currently not boosting!!!
spark plugs are a little wet black like water.
wastegate dump tube has thin black carbon build up.
smells like burning oil from downpipe.
i was thinking it was just burning out all the old carbon from the manifold and head but i dont think thats it.
i have ran some seafoam. smoked alot. did it in my shop! lol (got vid)
smoke seamed to go away for a little bit than returned.
what else should i check or what do you suggest?
