sounds like nothing more than some people tryin to find someone to blame for their engine problems, no different than all the people that claim GE is respnible for their problems, and people who bitch about JG engine dynamics.... some people have bad experiances with companys, i personally, have a problem with Venom, i ordered a manifold, and it didn't fit. this kind of stuff happens when you start customizing, you run into problems. i personally think KMS is an excellent shop, and would reccommenrd them to anyone

Wow...I was just about to ask that. If you do it yourself, providing its mostly a uniform job with no visable imperfections, could you do more harm than good? or would any outcome be a positive one?

We had a head done by KMS. All I will say is that we changed back to a stock head
on the dyno and made 20 more HP with a completly stock head. When I say on the dyno I mean we tried to tune it, got pissed off changed to head while the car was still on the rollers and made that much more power. I could say more but I'll leave it at that.
