customizing dsm charge pipes?
I've got some dsm charge pipes off of a '92 talon and I'd like to use it on my '99 teg. What would be the best way to get the pipes to fit my car? Bend them....cut them...etc. Any suggestions?
If anyone did this, please give comments and pics if possible.
Thanks

Might be easier to take your car to a cool (or desperate for work) muffler shop and show the dudes where you want pipes to go (from where to where) cuz DSM's run side mount intercoolers stock and use rubber hoses in someplaces so it might be a serious headache and waste of time to use em on a honda otherwise you wil have to cut, bend and possibly weld those Diamond Star Motors ones to fit. hope this helps. peace

Re: customizing dsm charge pipes? (maddskilzz)
Well that's kind of the reason why I wanted to use them, because I've got the side mount IC that goes with it....as well as the turbo..so they all fit together well.
Would it save me money to take the pipes to a muffler shop and have them cut and weld them for me? Or would it be cheaper to just buy pipes off of jcwhitney and make them myself?

It would definately be a lot cheaper to go to your muffler shop rather than order pieces from a catalog, my muffler shop charges me roughly $10 bucks per pipe and thats labor to bend it and the cost of the pipe.
But if you said that you have all the stuff from the DSM then just take your bumper cover off and hold evrything in place to see how close or far you are from putting it together see whether or not a lot of modification is needed.
