custom vs peak boost kit
here is my situation
i have been looking at teh peak boost kits and tehy seem very nice, reported at 20hp per psi. i have a b18b in a 97 civic btw. these kits go for about 3100 after tax, then i have to get injectors and fuel management. I have access to gettin a custom kit with all new parts for about 2000 with management. It has an sfp log mani, garret t3/t4e, jc intercooler, greedy bov, tail wastegate, 2.75 inch downpipe......im wantin to keep ac, the mani and downpipe are ac compatible. I would also ahve my freind tune with chrome for me.
so there is about a 1500 diff between the kits. Id like to know which u would suggest. This will be driven quite often. im wondering if the peak boost kit is worth an extra 1500, considering im on abudget and im kinda wantin to keep ac. also my goal is high 200whp. i have a stock head and bottom end
please add your inputs
thanks in advance

Re: custom vs peak boost kit (c1civic)
I'm definately happy with my kit. It's going to be harder to make high 200s with a log manifold etc... but the peakboost kit is most definately NOT a/c compatible.

Re: (c1civic)
B18C1... haven't dynoed it but it's gotta be ~280whp @9psi. This kit makes the motor thirsty... hehe.. I'm running pretty high duty cycle on 650cc injectors for 11.5:1 AFR near torque peak (right about 7000 I think w/ ITR cams and s2 intake manifold). 3" from turbo back, no cat.

Eh I think I've gotten pretty good at estimating over the years... also I worked it out with the injector duty cycle and it confirmed it's within 10whp of my estimate.

it's just a calculator in the program...its not like at 100% duty cycle it won't let you add more fuel.....not safe, but it's possible...
BTW, this can be done by cranking up the FP..

>=100% duty cycle = injector held open
>=100% duty cycle = injector held open
