Custom Accord Turbo, help! Read!!
Alrighty, well I'm somewhat new to the whole turboing thing, but I'm learning as much as I can swallow! I have a 94 Accord LX 5spd and I have been researching a custom turbo kit for a few weeks now. I have made a short, but to the point, and precise list of things for a basic "junkyard" kit. So tell me, am I missing anything? What would you recommend, or just what do you think? Thanks!
-DSM 1g manifold and o2 housing (going to send to machine shop to be matched to my F22B2 motor)
-manifold gasket and turbo gasket/adapter plate
-14b turbo (1g DSM)
-15 feet of assorted vaccuum lines
-DSM oil return line tapped and welded into oilpan (where is the best location on the pan?) (also new oil pan gasket, duh)
-3" DSM downpipe and gaskets to manifold and cat
-1g DSM blow off valve with adapter flange (any gasket needed?)
-1g DSM 450cc injectors (OEM injector seal kit needed?)
-Walbro (or similar) 255 lph fuel pump
-Some brand fuel pressure regulator and gauge
-2.25 inch intercooler and turbo pipes (custom bent)
-Starion front mount intercooler with custom made brackets
-various sized couplets and c-clamps
-2.5 inch exhaust pipes
-boost gauge, turbo timer, custom manual boost controller (need a how-to!)
-standalone (probably GReddy e-manage)
-all new bolts/nuts etc
List is kind of long. I can get all of the pipes for free from the garage I work at, I just need to rent a pipe-bender to bend them (Autozone). Also, most of the parts I can get from a garage or for low prices because I sell parts online (name brand parts, Walbro, GReddy, etc.). So, how does that sound. I want to run 5-6 psi daily SAFELY and hit about 8-10 on the track (on rare occasions!).
Let's get some feedback! Sorry so long!

Re: (honda530)
That's why I posted up. I've heard with modification it can be done. I can go through a machine shop and get the work done to it. I just really need some expert advice on this and nobody will read the thread!

Re: (teamlegacy)
Alright well I've been searching around and looking at pictures of DSM manifolds and LX header pictures. And yes, the DSM is O O O O and the LX is O OO O. Now, is there anyway that I could cut and re-weld the DSM manifold to FIT that LX O OO O pattern instead of going custom manifold?
1g DSM manifold
94-97 Accord header
(Sorry, best pic I could find)
So tell me, could the 2 middle outlets be cut and welded to the 5gen Accord exh manifold pattern???

save yourself the time and trouble and get either a custom or off the shelf unit. I know that the accord motor is the bastard child in the honda family but I believe drag does offer one. Now to the 1st gen mani that would be too much time and money to make it work its not even close man. Goodluck with the project.-pdang

Re: (boostin b16)
Only problem with buying a DRAG, F-MAX mani, I'm going to use the 14b snail. So it's either go custom, or sit at the shop and sawzall the **** out that manifold and re-weld it.

The DSM crap swaps onto H23a1s, not SOHC f-series. You need a greddy or HKS manifold like mine:
Came with a T25G .42a/r 60trim

Yeah, I'm trying to pick up a 1g manifold so I can try and custom it a little. And if I get it cheap, it won't hurt if I **** it up or it leaks.
Where and for how much did you get that manifold/turbo for?

Upgarage, Yawata City japan. $1400 for the entire turbo kit. Kinda worthless info but the HKS/Greddy manis are the only ones I know of that are made for Internal wastegate T2 series turbos. (for accords)

Re: (teamlegacy)
Anyone ever heard anything about making a custom manifold using their stock exhaust manifold? Just trying out my options before I have to spend big!

Maybe try http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/ The manifold kits are tubular log style, that you choose your own turbo flange and weld on the outlet flange assy. I ordered one for the H22, we will see about quality.
