CTR piston IN complete ITR motor Boost Capable?
Its a complete ITR motor stock with CTR pistons Shotpeend rods
how many lbs of boost will it beable to boost, or if it can even handle boost
motor will be running on 100octane all day
i believe according to c-speedracing.com the compression of the motor right now is 11.75:1
what are your guys thought on this?
any idea what turbo would be great with this setup?

thanks for the reply...any idea what kind of turbo will yield descent gains...looking to boost only about 8-10lbs if possible
my friend thinking bout
stock gsr cams since skunk stage 1 cams are in the motor right now and i have access to alot of sets of GSR cams
equal length manifold
60-1 or gt28rs or gt30r...
3" from downpipe all the way to the exhaust
tial 36mm wg
tial bov
jrc 8" fmic
2.5" intercooler piping

The C-Speed calculator is incorrect on the CTR pistons.
In a 1.8 block, CTR pistons will give you somewhere around 13:1 compression.
CTR pistons are junk, even for all motor cars.
Do yourself a favor and don't b00st on that block.

I wouldn't use this exact verbage, this is not really recommended to boost with the CTR pistons in an ITR Block. I personally have used CTR psitons in an ITR block (really nice and balanced for road racing) but wouldn't use this combination for a turbo car. Unless the engine managment and tuner are ***** on perfect, it leaves it wide open for some potential problems. Keep the block for N/A, and get another stock block for boost.

And BTW, you can't ever say "9-10 psi of boost"... every turbo is different. Aim more for HP goals as opposed to boost levels.
CTR pistons in that block would just yield an unsafe amount of cylinder pressure... thus you'd have to run very very minimal timing with rich conditions to always avoid blowing up.

i was never a fan or ctr pistons....and yea in any 1.8 block the compression will be almost 13:1.....my friend tried this with a milled head and the compression was super high. Unless the timing was all the way down it would ping and it blew the headgasket twice in 18 miles....adding boost to that, i cant see that being able to work unless you plan to run super high octane....and at the end of the day its still a cast piston and will crack

If you really want to do it find the thickest headgasket avaliable to give you some hope. Find yourself a small turbo. 14g-18g. Dont boost until you get it dyno tuned with something worthy for fuel mang. Watch the timing
