Re: crx turbo questions.
Well if its an SI it's going to have the 1.6 in it. It's an awesome stock motor. To answer your question, there isn't a straight forward answer to it without knowing what has been done to the engine internally. Can't recall the compression ratio on the motor, but without any internal upgrades, there should only be a moderate amount of boost put into the motor. Say 6 to 7 lbs. maybe. Any person who is driving a boosted car is bound to dog it a little too, so be weary of that. Ask questions. See what else has been done to the motor to compensate the turbo.

Re: crx turbo questions.
allright so its stock ZC motor. ordered from Hmotors. about 40k miles. allways ran 8psi. never anymore. he says it makes possibly 200whp but maybe less. never been raced or dyno'd. never been on a track. this is his 5th crx. last one a vaccume line broke off the waistgate or somthin and the psi spiked to 22psi and split the block. so he bought a whole new crx and engine. turbo was done by a "shop" but the guy was friends so it was done personaly. uhm stock interior exept for the seats. no big rpm guage or anything. sounds like a solid CR-X IMO. minor rust on door, roof, and left rear quarter panel. typical honda rust.

Well by the looking at the picture, the motor did look pretty nice. he might actually have been taking care of it. i guess all you need to do it go out there and test drive it for yourself.

Re: crx turbo questions.
just bought the crx today. I detuned it to 7psi instead of 8. just cuz its a daily driver. unless 8psi is fine on the 1.6L ZC motor. he took the corbua racing seats and sold it to me for $3500 witht the stock seats.

Re: crx turbo questions.
8 psi should be no problem provided its tuned ok. I have street tuned several bone stock d16 powered civic/crx's at 11 psi, and they have been great!! No reliability problems. The little d series pulls pretty good from 8psi and up. Makes 6 psi feel like a waste of time. Just remember that tuning is everything when it comes to adding boost to any motor.
Sorry, but I couldnt open the link you have in your first post, so I dont have any details about the car and its setup, so I'm just speaking from what I have done with a similar car/engine setup.

Re: crx turbo questions.
its fine its an old post.lol its a 1988 CRX si with the 1.6L Zc engine. its running 8psi, stock eci and its untuned I believe. idk where or how to tune it. tenabe medallion exhaust. hks ssqv BOV. ect ect. Any help with a shop around central IL that can tune a car to handle boost would be great. it pulls hard in 4th meaning no traction in 1-3 haha..
