Crower Customer Service - Amazingly...Bad
so today I call Crower to voice my concern about my dowel pins being sheared off and in general the lack of research and testing done on the so called Turbo cams
The guy Dustin Spencer basically says "only way our cams could have that happen is if it was installed wrong" I point to the fact that Wdsonny had the SAME issue and even that people like Ron from IPS warned wdsonny about that.
He proceeds to say that Ron from IPS "doesnt personally like us" and hence he says whatever.
Very mature answer.
Tells me to send in the cams even though he pretty much already told me that no way it would happen without bad install. He asks me how else it could happen as if I was an engineer.
Also claimed that they have sold 50+ sets of turbo k20 cams yet no results or anything are posted on their website.
Great!

Re: Crower Customer Service - Amazingly...Bad (jsimon9633)
same problems when I called them after I snapped their rod in 3 pieces...
The answer that came from them was simply, you made too much power (680 whp) and you rev higher pass the stock redline (9000-9500 rpm)
I didn't ask for a free replacement, although I wish I had got something...I was just asking for their opinion...
They didn't even bother to ask to see if I can send the broken rod back to see if there's any heat spot or anything out of the ordinary....
Maybe it was a bad batch, because I still ran another crower on my setup. Their products is good IMO, but customer service is not too friendly

The funny thing is that I didnt even get to mention the fact that the cams made absolutely no power whatsoever.
in fact lost midrange power
and this once again can be viewed as NOT the first time since another member ALSO made nothing on them.

I guess I am still a Crower dealer but their customer service is so bad that I just can't imagine why anyone would use Crower products.
It is amazing that the only people who don't know how to install a cam properly, (therefore snapping a cam), happen to be people with Crower cams.

Re: (quik sol)
Yeah of course
Extensive testing was obviously done on k20a2 turbo cams even though I have seen no results from anyone and the ones that tried showed that they fell on their face.
Yeah lets rely on our company history to release crap products that dont do their job

BTW, to play fair, I think their cam profile numbers are pretty good and their cranks seem good also. They are in a new building that must be a block long, so they have to be doing some things right. They just have no love for imports.

Re: Crower Customer Service - Amazingly...Bad (earl)
unfortunately when you design a cam just solely based on theory, sometimes it doesnt work out
same reason many B series guys run CTRS or even GSR cams over most so called turbo cams out in the market
Crower just plain and simple doesnt give a damn about imports I am led to believe.

the EXACT same thing happened to me, but mine only snapped in one spot, but they told me the same story, offered another set of rods in replacement, but that was little consolation considering i just wasted an entire engine, aebs block, ported head, piston, etc...
