Default Crower 402 VS 402t's

I have a pretty good deal for some 402's with cam gears or some 402t's with no gears (and won't get any either). On a high PSI turbo setup looking at 430whp and revving to around 7.5-8k what should I go with. I know the 402t's make ported LS heads (like mine) do wonders, but if I go with the regular 402's is it going to be that much of a difference and can I dial in the 402's better then if I didn't touch the 402t's?

Thanks and let me know if you need more specs on anything

Considered crane turbo cams? I've heard Jeff-evans has said some good things about them.

I've heard of some rough idle stories with the cams you mention.

I'm going with crane cams for my setup...let me dig up the thread on the jeff-evans forum with the info I am talking about.

A direct quote from Jeff...

After tuning with the cams, i would highly recommend them. The idle was near stock, and the power production speaks for itself.

And then later in that thread....

I think the cams are much better than the 402t's. The crower cams have a rough idle, these are much much smoother and have much more vacuum when driving partial throttle.

And later in that thread....

I dont like the idle quality on the crower cams. The 404's are horrible, they just dont have much vacuum at all. Even when playing with the cam gears, its hard to get any decent vacuum on them. As far as power goes, they do make power. These crane cams have made more power than any other LS engine that i have tuned, and have stock idle quality and drivability. I only recommend them after tuning alot of other cams on the market for LS heads (crower, JG, etc).

thanks!

Looks like from Crower's PDF http://www.crower.com/misc/m_cat.shtml (page 82) the 402t's are ALOT better. I just need real world experience or opinions with reason. Come one guys
