CRAZY AS HELL........car started with 1000cc and 3 bar map?????
Ok guys just finished putting together an 81.5mm b16a eagle rods, 10:6.1 CP pistons. So finished up putting in car put in a P28 with stock map for 240cc injectors, car starts but shuts off almost immediately. So not really paying attention i put in the ECU from the race car.....1000cc injectors 3 bar map (P72 with the neptune chip in it) CAR STARTS and runs..... runs surprizingly good????????? WTF how is that possible? Need ideas guys. VTEC is still disconnected so i have a CEL, and the car literally ran outta fuel while it was running, so need to fill it up today. any ideas guys??

I started and drove my car onto my trailer with 3 bar, 1000cc injectors on stock ecu, little choppy but it was driveable...

maybe i didnt not post clearly, its NON TURBO....trying to get it broken in NA b4 i slap the snail on, tuning is not required when its in stock form.

no its not a done deal, it SHOULD NOT RUN on that map which leads me to believe that there are bigger problems at work here, it DID NOT like a stock pr3 ECU which doesnt make sense......ill have more info for you guys tonight.

THis is not as complicated as it seems, it is NOT A TUNING ISSUE, it is a completely stock car, stock 240, stock engine, stock stocks, stock everytihng, with stock header intake all STOCK

the computer thinks the engine has 1000 cc injectors and thinks it has a 3 bar map sensor, but it has stock 240 injectors and a 1 bar map sensor
I even tried a stock ls ecu in vehicle (good know ecu';s here) and it started and shut right off,
I believe this might be a timing issue, not a TUNING ISSUE since once agian there is NO TUNE NEEDED FOR A COMPLETE STOCK B16, with a stock B16 Computer

is the fuel rail good. something clogged in or blocking the fuel to reach the injectors.. happened to me once.. are all 4 injectors good?

you need to stop screwing around with different computers and wondering why, and just get it tuned before you screw something up. don't drive it and take it to the dyno.

THANKS for reading the post, its not a TUNING issue
(mrbh22) (yes technically 10.6 compression is not stock. but 10.4 is) which is not enough to make a concern at this particular point)
appreciate the answers.
Only thing i can guess is TIMING ISSUE<(which i have to check tonight after work)
which i did not start this post, the owner did, becuase he doesnt konw anything and he wants to have a million people post differnet answers, most being tuning, (which its not a tuning issue)
as far as the fuel rail (that is something i never thought of ) but i will check it out
as far as the injectors 3 are guaranteed good, 1 unknown (one fell out of fuel rail will sitting outside (magically of course since the car never moved)
All these things will be checked out tonight since the owner is impatient, we did not go thru any testing yet, it was late and we needed to stop

when you put your "race ecu" in the car was the vtec hooked up then or was it disconnected. Finally when you put the ls ecu in the car you said it started but then it stopped. I think this could be your vtec. or a wiring problem, i do not think it has anything to do mechcanically.

First of all, the fuel units in all of these tuning programs are just that, values. It's probably running a little lean, since the value set for 1000cc injectors would be set lower than for 240cc injectors. Really the fuel maps at idle only vary slightly.
3 bar map reads vac just the same as a stock map, wouldn't be an issue till over 12psi when **** starts getting mad.

Please dont answer with he needs to go take and get it tuned. If you read the post this is fairly close to a stock b16. Last time a checked it doesnt take dyno tuning to work out kinks in an all motor b16. Even if he has changed the compression of the motor, he can still adjust his timing to make it run safly and effectively.
Does the Neptune chipped ECU have timing adjustments programmed in?
Are you running the stock Map sensor for now or do you still have the stock civic one plugged in?
Also to all these replys with need to get car tuned please inform what in the hell they are going to tune his stock b16 with a stock ecu in the car. Alls there is to adjust is fuel press. Dizzy timing and spark gap. This can all be done in a driveway not a dyno.

If it is a timing issue try to start it with the ls ecu and after it starts and dies try adjusting the dizzy (timing) until you can get it to idle. Then once it is running trouble shooting is a hell of a lot eaiser.
All your timing marks for your cams, crank ext should be good if the car ran fine on the Neptune ECU.
