cracked sleeve???
well guys i went out tonight and did some highway pulls and the b20z came back smoking and missing. BUT it was a gooood race lolol i was racing a del-sol with a built ls-v-tec turbo on 9psi making 309whp on a mustang dyno and me ek hatch stock b20z stock head on 11psi so we start in 2nd gear honk 3 times and i pull a car thought 2nd and 3rd gear then i hit 4th and he startes to gain and at the end we are dead even so we do it again this times i start in 3rd and he startes in 2nd and i pull a half car on him hit 4th and he passes me cuz somthing isnt right so i let off and the car is running really hard so i pull over and pop the hood and theres oil every where but!!! theres no holes in the block put all around the head theres oil where it meets the block and im like there went the sleeves but it didnt get hot on the way home or nothing and i was a good 2 miles from home. My buddy says you mite have just bent a valve cuz it has like no power so im like ok.
but what do you guys think it could be??? sleeves, ringlands, vavles??? im running 15* of timing at 11psi and the a/f was at 10.9-11.4?????

If the sleeve cracked you would have been running hot and more than likely lost compression...don't ask me how I know

but would a blown head gasket make it not fire in the 3rd piston cuz i can pull the 3rd plug wire off and it doesnt change. most the oil came out of the brether on the valve cover and the cam seal next to the cam gear blow out so i pushed it back in but i have never had that must oil come out of the brether.

Because what you were doing wouldn't bend a valve, but it could break your ring lands or blow your head gasket. Oil out of the breather and excessive crankcase pressure would indicate ring lands, especially if you're running stock pistons, as the OEM ring rands are relatively brittle. Do a leak down test on the motor to see where you are losing compression from.

A compression test will give you an indication of which cylinders are losing compression, but not necessarily why. A leak down test will tell you where the compression being lost from.

A leakdown test will tell where the problem lies.
