cracked block wtf?
94 GSR block 100k on it total 2k since rebuild. Was running fine except I began losing coolant on a daily basis you could see wet spots on the block under the manifold behind the turbo.... first I thought it was the main coolant plug on the bottom left leaking but I was wrong. Pulled off the kit multiple hairline cracks all the way down the block. I have never seen/heard of anything like this happening. I was only running 13 psi maybe 330 wheel if that. I suppouse I just got stuck with a bad block

Try welding up where it's cracking. What kind of engine mounts are you using?

What all would casue a motor to do that? Would mounts matter?

Re: cracked block wtf? (boosted_dc2)
Thought about welding it but with the way the block looks I dont think I am going to bother. If there was one small crack that would be one thing but there are a number of them. Who knows whats going on on the inside of the block. There could be a giant crack going across for all I know. Not worth my time to weld it and have it crack again down the line.
Coolant was added as needed. At first it was losing half the reservoir after one day of driving then it became the entire reservoir after 45 min of hard driving as i imagine the cracks expanded/more formed. I would let the car cool to the point of being able to pop off the rad cap to check level before adding coolant.
I have solid filled mounts if that makes a difference.
My rotating assembly is still good so I am probably just going to find a bare virgin block and swap everything over.

Re: cracked block wtf? (MrSmith)
sounds like you had some cooling issues like a bad water pump or thermostat that didn't allow proper cooling of the block. cooling
