crack down on thieves!

Re: crack down on thieves! (espanol)
One little tip for everyone reading:
Get an electric scribe and etch you DRIVER'S LICENSE NUMBER or LICENSE PLATE NUMBER on all the stuff in your car that thieves could steal and sell fast. You can put it in places that you would normally not notice. This includes your engine, tranny, axles, ECU, bolt-ons and your aftermarket stereo. If you have nice seats, get a white paint pen and write your DL# on the bottom of it. If you have an ITR, strip that thing completely and write the number on the back of everything.
I have spoken to cops about theft and they say that they find pickup trucks ALL THE TIME JUST LOADED WITH **** THAT THEY KNOW IS STOLEN, but because the stuff has no IDs, they can't do anything about it and they have to let the theives go. If you have your driver's license number on it, they will call you and ask you if you got your **** stolen. It also works to put your license plate number on it, it is up to you.
If you ever need to sell the stuff later on, you can just scratch out the number completely. Yes, this might affect the selling price, so you just have to weigh the options.

A really good point to add is that if you decide to 'personalize' your stuff, use a good engraver tool. The impact action of the tool will actually modify the structural alignment of the metals molecules so that the number can be read via x-ray even after the surface markings have been ground off!
