CP vs SRP
Coming into the new year im pricing out pistons for my build.
Ls/vtec

Looking to achieve 500-550,
Dont want this thread to get out of hand just want to know your opinion and a brief why.

I went with CP's however I have no technical information to back these piston's up other than they have been proven time & time again and its what my builder recommended for my goals which are within your same power range.

i just know that Cp pistons are true to size. meaning there all the same size down the thousandth of an inch, that info is coming from evans tuning. i have Cp pistons in my car but i have yet to install my turbo (so im driving around with low compression) but i have zero complaints about them.

SRP's will handle the power if thats what your asking but if in the future you plan to max out that turbo 750-800hp i would go with the cp's
Im currently running SRP's in my car and love them, ive run cp before too qith great success

I have SRP's now and will be switching out to CP's very shortly. If you want to keep power under 500 and not rev past 9k then go with SRP's. If you plan for more later on down the road go with CP's. With a turbo like that I would say you want more power later on. BTW we have very similar setups and I am switching for 550+.

I've seen more than 500whp on SRP's. And seen them go to nearly 11k. They are the same as Wiseco. Wiseco has been around a long *** time, and do it right. I had a set of shirts collapse on me with both CP and SRP. When you push a set-up to the limits, you will find your weak link. Sometime, somehow, it will happen. I honestly don't think either of them are bad pistons. If the price is $100 different, I would save the money, and use it elsewhere. I bought Endyne Rollerwave's for my current motor, and have yet to see what they can handle, and really don't plan on ever finding out. .
How are the SRP's the same as Wiseco?
SRP is a subsidiary of JE and from what I can remember the pistons have a higher silicon content than their regular JE's so they expand less and make for a quieter engine with better oil control.
Or are you just talking about the design?
