CP piston rings - file to fit?
Hey-
My pistons and rods are at the machine shop being balanced so I figured I would ask while they had all my stuff.
Are CP piston rings file to fit rings? What gap do they yield, from the factory?
Thanks!

You must file fit CP rings. CP Pistons come from the factory already balanced and so does most aftermarket connecting rods. You do not need to do this and you should get them back from your balancer and save your money.
Upper rings come with only about .005" of a gap and that is way to small. Ring gaps are normally the call of your engine builder based on several issues like turbo or nitrous use, etc.

Thanks Earl!
Where could I find some more information about gaps and my setup? I have a gsr with low compression oversized CP's running about 10-14 PSI of boost
