Default could cams effect boost???

first off i have a b16a turbo t3/t4 unk trim but on the smaller size
3 inch exhaust w/2.5 downpipe
2.5 intake piping and huge intercooler
type r tb and mani
kms valves springs and retainers
built bottom end minus sleeves at 10:1
tial 38mm wastegate with .6 bar spring.
skunk2 cam gears
stock b16 cams.

when i first got her tuned at church i hade another unknown wastegate and log mani. there was boost creep, at 8.5k it was 12lbs. they said it may be the wg. so i got a tial. 2nd tune no different. then they said it was probably the log mani because the wg was only on two runners. i picked up a ramhorn. 3rd tune same thing.

bottom line. im ok with the boost creep because it was consistant and was tuned that way. and it makes good power. but iv heard that when some people move to slightly more aggressive cams that it may make more power but more importantly lower the boost slightly. possibly due to overlap. my hope is to lower just a bit and let her rev out to 9k.

is this all bull. will the cams actually speed up the boost creep. or have no effect at all.

i know the problem porbably lies somewhere else but i wouldn't mind some new cams for a couple more ponies. i was thinking of the skunk2 tuner 1 or maybe ctr or gsr

thank you in advance for any info., she is currently at 351whp/227tq

High compression small turbo high rpms... your wg is probobly too small. or not situated in a manner that it can bleed off enough pressure from the turbo manifold so it overspins the turbo.

It would really help to figure out the problem if you could find out the exhaust turbine A/R.

I'm not entirely sure on the cams. I don't think that would help.. if anything a more agressive cam is going to flow more exhaust through the turbo faster thereby over boosting it earlier.

Do you know what your EGT's were like?
