Cost of Tunning
Could someone please let me know the going cost of tunning a hondata per hr. I have a dyno session booked in the morning, but i just found out it was $150.00 an hr. and that sounds kinda of steep to me. Info is appreciated.
really i was thinking it was in the 75-100 per hr. area. i am going reguardless just hope the person knows what he is doing.
Thanks for the reply, D

I think the cost of $150 is reasonable in the individual knows what he is doing and it doesn't turn into a BS section with others that may be standing around. In other words, is the shop professional?
I hate to say this, but it sounds like you haven't researched the shop that much and if you could reschedule it you may want to think about it.

Yeah, i have did research and everyone i talk to says the guy is great. Just didnt know if that was the going rate for tuning or not. I will however keep the BS problem in view though. Not going to pay for people standing around. The tuner said that it would be about 2 hrs. or so.
150 is better than the quote of 225 an hour by colletti motorsports in dayton so be glad. At 225 an hour I decided to buy my own wideband and 4b, learn to tune it myself

$150 for tuning fee, dyno time, air/fuel is not bad at all.
some places are cheaper, but prices are regional.
just because a guy in VA gets his for $100 per hour doesn't mean you can compare that to your area.

then i had to tune the car entirly by myself, whenever steve colletti made a suggestion on what to take out with the afc it turned out to totally **** up my a/f curve and made it take even longer...finally after about 10 pulls i have it dialed in so i can live with it and he charges me the entire amount for 3.5 hrs when it was less then an hour of dynoing.
then to top that off, a guy came in while i was dynoing my car from a local toyota dealership and was pretty impressed with my car, and while im standing away steve offers the guy my 644rwhp dyno sheet so he can hang it up at the dealership! im like WTF...anyways ill stop bitching now
So many cars I see have problems, so I usually charge a flat rate of 300, no matter how long it takes, if you buy the system from me.
Good lord they be taxing you guys out there. Damn I thought our Dyno prices were high here (115/hr; 75- 1/2hrs; and 30- 2 runs). Man that make me happy to see that this is a reasonable price here and they are the ONLY one here too.
