I paid about $490 for piston set. At the shop it cost me about $550 to install, machine, and rebuild the block.

Yeah this shop around here tried to charge me $1200 just for machining! I thought this was a little expensive.

$500 for pistons, and 750 for machine work on the entire block. I had a lot of machine work done though.
bore, hone, deck the surface, hone the crank girdle, micropolish the crank, and machine the pistons cost me 750 and about 5 days

I bought my pistons and rods as a combo for 850 bucks(20 for shipping).

Here's the list:
je pistons(9.0:1) .20 over
rings
pins
clips
eagle rods

I think that was a pretty good price. I bought it from ARI(auto race industries)

A local machine shop is doing the machine work...

resufacing the head(it has a fucken scratch on it)
boring and honing
decking
hot tanking
micing the crank(for bearing sizes)
balancing all the parts
for 450

then I assemble
