Default copper headgasket

Has anyone use a copper head gasket and if so did you have the block o ringed?

I used one once, at the time I was unaware that you had to have your block and head o-ringed and grooved, so my experience was not so good. I have read that they don't seal water or oil very well. I would recommend just sticking with a stock one or maybe cometic.
