Converting to braided fuel lines. What to do with firewall fitting.
So when my turbo was installed the shop hacked off the stock fitting at the firewall and put a braided line on it and secured it with hose clamps.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to correct this and convert it to a more secure setup with threaded fittings. I can't figure out how to get a fitting onto the fuel pipe that sticks out of the firewall. Could I flare the end of the pipe and put a fitting on it? How have other people solved this problem?
TIA

IMO, there isn't really a much better way than what the shop did. Most of the people i know with aftermarket fuel rails have this exact same setup.
You could use a compression fitting but it may still leak.
the BEST way is to run the line all the way back to the tank however that is costly and you have to use the right type of line and secure it so it won't chafe.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

You can use a tube/nut assembly. We do have all the sizes in stock. You can pick up a flaring tool for about 20-30 bucks. Then you can use a -6 or -8AN connector to the stainless braided lines.
We do it all the tiem for our customers.
thanks
